Tiny Man is a picture book I wrote and illustrated, published in a super limited edition with Jumbo Press. Inspired by the compact, almost-square hardback format of Dick Bruna’s classic books, it explores how small actions create a chain reaction of cause and effect. Riso-printed in three spot colors and hand-bound in Barcelona, Spain.
The Story Behind the Page
What started as a short poem and an initial concept for an animated short eventually found its home on the page. In 2024, after mocking up a rough dummy book and sending the PDF over to Jumbo Press, we agreed to turn it into a physical object - partly so I could read it to my son.
We produced a super limited run at Jumbo’s workshop in Barcelona using a limited three-color Risograph palette, relying on bold geometry, simple text and that tactile, (almost) square format to show how small, thoughtful gestures compound into something bigger.

Mockup
The original black and white paper dummy, created three years before the final book was published. Working at such a small scale forced me to strip away any unnecessary detail and focus purely on what was essential. Drawing within these tight constraints kept the compositions clean and locked in the visual pacing long before converting the sketches into final 3-color artwork.
